UO to create national children's mental health center with $11 million federal grant
The University of Oregon has received an $11 million federal grant to launch a new national children’s mental health center through its Prevention Science Institute. Led by Dr. Beth Stormshak and colleagues, the center will unite schools, community partners, and researchers to deliver proven interventions such as the Family Check-Up® and Inclusive Skill-building Learning to middle school students and families. The effort aims to address the youth mental health crisis by combining prevention, training, and innovative programs like iTRAC and TECH Check-Up, while also preparing the next generation of child behavioral health professionals.
